POST METS 2011 COMMENTS FROM SALTWATER CLIENTS

Comments from a selection of Saltwater clients that exhibited at this year’s Show:

Contechs Marine
Julia Tyrrell, Head of Sales and Marketing at Contechs Marine, commented: “We have had a massive surge on enquiries for our yacht interior and exterior upholstery services and as a result of meetings at METS and the recent Monaco Yacht Show, we will shortly be planning a designer tour of yacht design houses and naval architects in the South of France, in addition to our already planned tour in the UK next year.”

Dometic Marine
Ned Trigg, Senior Vice President, Global Marine Sales at Dometic Marine, commented: “Overall this year’s METS was a success for Dometic Marine. As in previous years, the show provided a valuable opportunity to network with both OEM and aftermarket customers and we received excellent feedback on our new products which were unveiled at the show. Day 2 (Wednesday) was particularly busy as we hosted our own Marine Excellence Awards, which recognise our distributors and dealers worldwide for their hard work and success throughout the year.”

Mobilarm Europe
“This was the first time that we have displayed the Sea Marshall range and Crewsafe V100 alongside each other and the reaction from visitors on the stand has been very positive,” commented Colin Greetham of Mobilarm Europe, the UK-based division of Australian marine safety specialist, Mobilarm. “METS was the ideal venue to show our expanded portfolio of Maritime Survivor Locating Devices and proved a good place to meet current and potential resellers for our global operation. We also took the opportunity to meet with our PFD manufacturer partners, who have reported strong interest in the concept of ‘Intelligent Lifejackets’, where they have designed their PFDs for integration with Sea Marshall and Crewsafe MOB devices.”

Ocean Signal
Alan Wrigley, Managing Director at Ocean Signal, commented: “This year’s METS has been very busy for us with good quality traffic to our booth and significant new business enquiries. During the show we announced the expansion of our distributor network to support worldwide sales of our range of safety communications products and with this in place we are very optimistic about the year ahead.”

Ultrasonic Antifouling Ltd
Nick Griffin, Director at Ultrasonic Antifouling Ltd (UAL), commented: “METS 2011 has been a great success for us. Our focus was to meet new potential dealers and I think we have achieved that. In comparison to last year, visitor numbers to our stand have increased considerably and this has led to several strong leads and many new contacts.”

Vesper Marine
Mike Ogle, General Manager of Sales and Marketing at Vesper Marine, commented: “We see a big future in AIS for individual boat owners and believe there is a growing market for integrating AIS at the core of a boat’s electronics network to provide information on the objects and vessels that are relevant to a boat’s safe passage. METS was a great opportunity for us to show two unique AIS safety devices that we’ll be launching in 2012. The quality of conversation was very high and we also met with many potential new partners and a large number of our existing customers.”
