DOMETIC MARINE ISSUES RECOMMENDATIONS FOR USE OF AIR CONDITIONING AND REFRIGERATION SYSTEMS IN WATERS AFFECTED BY OIL SPILLS

Frank Marciano, President of Dometic Marine, comments: “While the effects of crude oil contamination on water-cooled air conditioning and refrigeration equipment are not yet thoroughly known, it is recognised that crude oil could be detrimental to the water-cooled equipment typically used on boats.” The Guidance Notes, which include preventive and corrective actions for equipment protection, will be available for boaters to view online at: www.dometic.com/GuidanceNotes. Dometic Marine has also issued a field notice to its network of dealers, distributors, OEMs and manufacturer’s representatives in the U.S. who may be affected by the Gulf of Mexico oil spill. Boaters operating in or exposed to oil-contaminated water, are advised to contact their nearest Dometic dealer for service recommendations.
